Hi,
I currently am attempting to do the same thing at Liverpool and
think I have just been successful.
I have two dhcp servers running on the same network: one serving
the usual hep stuff (on 138.253.48.) and the other serving the testbed
machines as they come up during installation (on 138.253.178.). (I believe
it is possible to have one serving two subnets but have not figured this
out yet).
My LCFG server is on the hep subnet 138.253.48. (this machine also
has the root directory needed at installation time).
I use a loadlin based floppy for LCFG installation which allows me
to specify which machine has the root directory. I pass some parameters
needed (domain, hostname, ip address) via dhcp (I pass a 255.255.0.0
subnet mask). Other parameters such as the IP address of the LCFG server I
pass via the /etc/dcsrc. At the moment the mixture of methods is just a
bit of a hack, and I am not quite sure what is strictly necessary to make
it work.
My first UI is rebooting after installation as I write this.
Michael.
