Hi John,
Assuming that GridPP can develop a single set of criteria for what
software can be supported at individual sites (and I don't see why not)
then that would of course be a useful and valid optimisation.
In practice, the arrangements agreed with individual sites are likely to
look very similar as the concerns of one site administrator are (broadly
speaking) going to be the same as all of the others. Special cases can
always be made where it's appropriate.
And, of course, once one experiment has a working set of policies
adopted with individual (groups of) sites then another experiment can
use that as a template; assuming, that is, the operational problems the
experiment is trying to resolve are broadly similar.
