I thought that the variorum edition was now in print in paperback -- I thought I saw it in a slightly reduced size at Blackwell's in Oxford UK recently. I bought a second hand hardback from thhem about 4 years ago for about £450 if I recall rightly (it didn't have the Judson Life which I later bought) and of course I didn't get the
additional volume on sale here.
How sad to be getting rid of books -- to my wife's despair I am still buying them, albeit in reduced numbers!

I came to this figure by doing some research at abebooks.com, lowering the estimate that emerged there, and throwing in the extra Judson book on Spenser in Ireland. The price came to me as a shock; but on the other hand, individual volumes are selling for $85 or so.

If you or anyone you know might be interested in the whole set (I'd rather not break it up), please write me off-list at: [log in to unmask]
