Yes, but people also know what to expect - and how they are expected to
behave - when they go to a cinema. Many people who have not been to
university would find it unfamiliar and somewhat scary to go to anything
in one, even if the content interests them. I agree entirely that it's
far from being just a matter of presentation, but I really do think that
if we want to take science to the public we should make more of an effort
to do so in a setting where they will feel comfortable and at home.
However, we could to go on for ever on this one so I now undertake to shut
up on the subject...
