medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear colleagues,
One of our graduate students is working on the 15 Joys of our Lady
(French text found in books of hours). One of the joys places Mary at
the feeding of the 5,000. Neither of us can find text or illustration
placing her there. This Joy is paired with the Feast at Cana,
suggesting to me a eucharistic context. Has anyone encountered this
connection, Mary 7 the 5,000, in apocrypha or legends?
