My research concerns the "Maubeuge Cycle" saints: their prosopography, the
distribution of church and altar dedications to them, the relation of their
cults to village and town economies and seigniors. I also work on trade and
transport on European rivers in the early Middle Ages by monastic
foundations, cathedral chapters and episcopal sees, and the role Viking
incursions played in this trade network.
It's a privilege to join this list and learn about its members' valuable
projects and the information they generously share.

Interesting - As you might already know I am interested in the transportation
along the River Trent in the English Midlands. I believe salt was transported
along this from Cheshire - have you any thoughts ? - certainly the Bishop of
Chester had a number of holdings along the River Trent at the time of the
Doomsday.
