a propos of nothing much, that page has a link to another one on the same site
http://www.mediadivisionejulia.org/Webprecedente/web1/visite/sesto/templong.html
which has some very nice shots of the remarkable stucco-work surviving at
Cividale.
the detail of the foliate archivolt in the second one demonstrates both the
extremely high quality of work in this medium, and the fact that we must
therefore assume that suchlike work was *much* more common than the pitifully
few remains which have survived might otherwise suggest.
