I am working with a couple of Old Swedish manuscripts containing texts
which are titled Speculum missae. Those are vernacular expositions of the
different moments in the latin medieval mass, and they give very concrete
descriptions of what the priest is doing followed by a biblical
interpretation.
Can anyone tell me more about this genre, give some references? It seems
that these texts are common in lay manuscripts.
