medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Psalters commonly contained the Laudes Canticles for use at the second
canonical hour (ad Laudes, or ad matutinum in the monastic terminology).
These varied from time to time and place to place, but Is. 12, 1-6 is one
of these. (In fact it has currently been restored to the Liturgy of the
Hours as the canticle for Tuesday Lauds.)

I have just examined a manuscript of a Psalter. It also contains various
Canticles. Most are familiar: Benedictus, Magnificat etc. But it also
includes Isaiah 12, Confitebor tibi domine. Is that common in medieval
Psalter MSS?
