Dear Bill,
Thanks, I have written an unpublished (by my choice) archaeological travel
guide on the area. And I have written some journalism on Cappadocia for
Cornucopia.
John Ash is fine. I would certainly recommend his book to anyone going
to Turkey for the first time. The historical details are correct and he
has chosen the right topics. He is also very fair to contemporary Turkey.
But it isn't a work of scholarship.
Best wishes
David
