MAKING THE MOST OF THE INTERNET
21 February 2002, London
As the range of information available on the Internet grows there is a vital
role for librarians and information specialists in helping users to find the
most useful, accurate and up to date information.
This event is designed to help those with some experience of using the
Internet to gain a better understanding of how to exploit it for their
customers.
BENEFITS FROM ATTENDING
It will help participants to understand the various methods of 'navigating'
through this large, but uncatalogued collection of information, with a
particular focus on search engines.
BY THE END OF THE EVENT PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE:
* the ability to identify the most relevant search service for an enquiry
* the necessary know-how to choose the most appropriate search technique to
use
* explored how to interpret results effectively
WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM ATTENDING?
Those who use the Internet already but would like to develop their searching
techniques.
