A leading provider of topographical surveys utilising aerial and terrestrial LiDAR data, aerial photography and other remotely sensed data, Network Mapping are looking for graduates keen on starting a career in Remote Sensing.
We are seeking enthusiastic and capable graduates to fulfil the role of Remote Sensing Technician in our expanding Remote Sensing Department. The department is responsible for the post-processing of a range of remotely sensed data captured by our field teams. Typically, the role of a Remote Sensing Technician involves the production of spatially correct LiDAR point clouds and orthorectified sets of aerial imagery. Duties may also include leading projects within the department - communicating progress and issues to colleagues and performing quality control checks of fellow team members’ work.
Ideally the candidate will have knowledge of one or more of the following areas: LiDAR and Remote Sensing, Geodesy, Photogrammetry, GPS and GNSS systems and/or Surveying.
One of the important aspects of our work is to ensure that the outputs are produced to a high standard and that the spatial accuracy of the data complies with specification, meaning that close attention to detail is required. The candidate should be able to demonstrate critical thinking and an innovative approach to problem solving.
It is essential that the candidate is IT literate and confident in the use of Microsoft Office applications, it would also be advantageous to have experience in CAD/GIS software. Ideally the candidate will have a scientific background related to one of the subject areas listed above and is educated to degree level or has relevant work experience.
This role is a permanent, full-time position working a rotating shift pattern based at our Technology Centre, Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. There are three working pattern options; an early shift (5.30am – 2pm), late shift (2pm-10.30pm) or rotating shift (alternating between the early and late shifts). Each shift will operate on a 4-on, 2-off schedule: four days’ work followed by two days’ rest. Shift workers receive a premium of 12.5% on base salary.
