Dear Colleagues,
We would like to draw your attention to the session "Novel
Approaches to Proterozoic Tectonics and Continental Correlations"
(T04) for the AGU Joint Assembly, 27-30 May 2008, in Fort
Lauderdale, Florida.
Session Description:
The elucidation of Proterozoic tectonics is riddled with many
obstacles such as poor exposures and crust that has been variably
reworked. In an attempt to overcome these challenges, many new
and novel methods have been implemented and refined. Such methods
include LA-ICP-MS and SIMS measurements of U-Pb, Pb-Pb, and Hf
isotopes, paleomagnetic, paleoclimatological and geophysical
analyses. This session is designed to examine the structural,
geochronological, geochemical, isotopic and tectonic histories of
the North and South American Continents and their conjugates in
order to test hypotheses of Paleo- to Neo-Proterozoic continental
configuration and crustal evolution.
Please remember that the deadline for abstract submission is March
5th.

We look forward to seeing you in Fort Lauderdale!
Best regards,
Misty Stroud, Dave Foster, Joe Meert, and Paul Mueller
