Hi,
the twin motif is also very popular in horror, action
and thriller. Check out "Twins of Evil" (Hammer
production with Peter Cushing), "Sisters" (1973 by
Brian de Palma), "Maximum Risk" (Jean Claude Van
Dame).
Slapstick comedies: Twins (1925 with Stan Laurel),
"Our Relations" (1936 with Laurel and Hardy).
In TV series it seems a popular, but already somewhat
cliche, device to introduce the evil twin of a hero:
Star Trek - Next Generation: Data's brother
Father Dowling Mysteries: his criminal twin brother
Murder She Wrote: her twin sister (NOT evil) solves a
case in mansion (seems to have been a strategy to
change location and make the hero a bit "weaker" I
suppose).
Best of luck,
Catalin
