See Takashi Miike's 'One Missed Call' - A pretty tacky chick/horror flick in
which the cell phone is the central character.

Hello,
I think there are a few studies about "telephones and
the uncanny".
If you´re looking for further examples: the X-Files
made excessive use of the mobile phone, same goes to a
certain extent for CSI.
The South Koreans also very often use it as a device:
Oldboy, Shiri. Possibly no coincidence because they
love time travels in their storytelling and mobile
phones very often serve as a connection between two
people separated not only by space but also time.
Best wishes.
