The effect of the built environment on people's health is a major
concern of the Welsh Assembly and the UK Government. One of the
concerns about housing quality is indoor moulds associated with damp
housing contributing to poor respiratory health, particularly asthma.

University. Details of the HANAH project may be found
at{ HYPERLINK http://www.cf.ac.uk/archi/research/hanah }

The HANAH project is seeking to build a research team that can
progress this area over the years ahead.
We are keen to employ the most promising applicant and are willing to
consider a variety of backgrounds (e.g. housing, environmental
health, environmental sciences, geography) and degree qualifications.
The successful candidate will be expected to register for a PhD and
will be given a rigorous research training in epidemiological survey
methods and environmental monitoring.
We would wish to have a candidate in post by August 2001. The
successful applicant will be appointed on the University Research and
Analogous Scale Grade 1A with an initial salary of up to £25,213
depending upon experience.
Informal enquiries may be directed by telephone or e-mail to Dr Ian
Matthews who will act as supervisor.
