Louise,
If it is of any help, Methylphenidate can be detected in urine by thin layer
chromatography using ToxiLab drug screen method down to 0.5ug/ml. It can
also be detected by GCMS in urine. This may be a non-invasive and less
traumatic way of checking for compliance in a child, but you would have to
consider other factors such as half life etc.
Regards Geoff.

Subject: Ritalin
I have had a query from a GP regarding ritalin measurement
(methylphenidate hydrochloride) in a child where compliance is an issue.
Does anyone have any experience in this area or know if this assay is
available (nothing on AssayFinder) ?
Many thanks
