Humphrey (et al.):
Other than sheet 100 of the OS Old Series One Inch to One Mile, in states of
1873 and 1874, we have (and can offer in some form) the following:-
1) 'A new map of the Isle of Man, shewing the local divisions, roads &
geographical features . . . May 1861' also at 1:63 360 (1861, coloured,
parishes shown by pecked lines);
2) Stanford's map at 1:126 720 "shewing the districts, sheadings & parishes,
towns . . .' (1861, outline coloured);
3) '. . . This Map of the Isle of Man, . . . dedicated . . .by John
Drinkwater. From a Trigonometrical Survey by Benjamin Smythe', again at
1:63 360 (1826, outline coloured, parishes by pecked lines).
All listed on our online catalogue (but not necessarily clarifying presence
of parish boundaries).

Subject: Historic boundaries within the Isle of Man
The GB Historical GIS project has now gone live with its "Vision of Britain
through Time" web site -- although some of its features have still to be
turned on -- and spent all its money from the national lottery. We are
applying for funding for some major extensions, like mapping parliamentary
units, and doing some small scale projects to fill gaps in the system.
One day we may be able to add Irish data; for now, we are trying to add
the Isle of Man, and in particular map its parish boundaries. We have
checked the Portsmouth collection, and unfortunately the only maps to show
parishes are still within copyright -- a 1957 OS map, and a David and
Charles reprint of 19th century maps. We also have 1932 and 1942 OS maps,
but they do not show parishes.
Does anyone have out-of-copyright maps of the Isle of Man showing
parishes? Preferably maps they could either lend us, or scan for
electronic transmission to us.
Best wishes,
Humphrey Southall
