As Moira Courtman has already confirmed, the associated texts that go with
the maps include a full index. If this is not part of anyone's collection, I
would be more than happy to photocopy the ones that we have to provide you
with a copy.
As Francis has noted this is not simply a collection of maps but an
intriguing set of accompaying texts (or is it the other way around?), and we
seem to have a complete set. As with some of the other responses to my
original e-mail have indicated, the set we have is in the folders with SMS
logo on the front and title on the spine. A close examination also reveals
that we have a duplicate set of Volume 1 - can anyone give this a good home?
Now that I've got my teeth into this, I may try and do a bit more
investigation as I am also fascinated by the suggestion that this may have
been a pseduo-governmental publication. I have not had the opportunity to
read any of the texts as yet but it will be interesting to see if they have a
"propaganda spin" on them or are merely factual recordings.
Thank you for all the positive responses - I will keep you informed of any
further progress on their origin and background.
