For the Latin quote (this program doesn't give me the text of your message),
there is a Classical database that has all Greek and all (I believe) Roman
authors. I simply can't remember the name of it; it originally ran on the
IBYCUS computer designed by David Packard (who also did a lot for the
disk(s)). I'll check tomorrow (the RAM in the brain here is not functioning
well after 4 hours of meetings!)
For the lion, Zossima and burying Mary of Egypt, see chap. 26 of the "Life
of S. Mary of Egypt" as translated by Benedicta Ward in _Harlots of the
Desert_ (London: Mowbray). In this version Zossima is trying to bury Mary
when the lion walks up. Hope this helps.
