These are the other 3 older patriarchal sees. Constantinople was added
later, producing what sometiumes is called the Pentarchy. The authority
of these sees was involved in discussions with the "Greek" church at the
council of Ferrara-Florence - see J. Gill, The Council of Florence. The
heads of certain of these sees can be found on the losing side at one or
another of the four great councils (Nicaea, Constantinople, Ephesus,
Chalcedon).
