This is a rather old article; it should be supplemented with Luitpold
Wallach's chapters on Theodulph and the Libri Carolini in his _Diplomatic
Studies in Latin and Greek Documents from the Carolingian Age_ (Cornell,
1977), esp. pp. 161-294.
I should hasten to add that I am no expert in all of this. I do know that
Wallach's book was rather harshly handled by some reviewers--though I cannot
remember whether this section elicited the harshness. Have Wallach's points
stood up well over the last 20 years?
In any event, Wallach's book has an immense bibliography that should be
helpful in the current question. LW always took the kitchen sink approach to
questions of what to admit to his bibliographies.
