Dear Niall
There are parochial dedications in honour of Firmin at Thurlby, south
Lincolnshire, and North Crawley, Bucks (with a dedication inscription on the
exterior of the chancel east end).
There were two St Firmins, both bishops of Amiens (fourth and sixth centuries),
so that's the connection you should be seeking initially, rather than an RB
association. Whose was the castle? How about DB tenant(s)? Monastic advowson?
