An advertisement, if I may be permitted:
The Institute for Ecumenical and Cultural Research at St. John's
University (and Abbey) in Collegeville, Minnesota (USA) is looking for
applicants for the 2000-2001 year (and there are some new openings this
year too). I was a research scholar there in the Fall of 1997 and found
it a wonderful experience, making use of the amazing resources at the
Hill Monastic Manuscript Library as well as enjoying the collegiality
and international exchange of ideas among the Institute community of
scholars, not to mention the brothers and sisters of St. John's and
neighboring St. Benedict's.
Their website with application info is at:
http://www.csbsju.edu/iecr
Or email me privately if you want to know more about the research
and living experience there.
