THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Information Systems and Computing at Brunel University is
a dynamic, growing department with a commitment to high quality research.
Situated in west London, we are one of the largest and foremost departments
of Information Systems in Europe, with 26 full-time teaching staff and over
500 students in our various programmes.
We are also a multi- and inter-disciplinary department. Our belief is that
systems design should be sensitive to the detailed requirements of the
application area, the personal and social contexts of use, and to the
engineering required to create robust software. Our focus on
application-oriented research aims to create a symbiotic relationship
between issues, technique, methods and the uses of software.
