Today, 11 June, is the feast of ...
* Barnabas, apostle (first century) - the *Acts of Barnabas* detail his
martyrdom in Cyprus and the miracles that took place at his tomb
* Felix and Fortunatus, martyrs (296?) - the Romans tried to burn them
with boiling oil, but this did not work, so they had no choice but to
behead them
* Parisio (1267) - likely a native of Treviso, he received Camaldolese
habit at age twelve; he served as spiritual director of the nuns of St
Christina for 77 years
(Last year I asked: Are there any Camaldolese scholars on the list who
can tell us more about Parisio, and more about the Camaldolese monks in
general? - But no one answered. Are there any Camaldolese scholars out
there now?)
