* Matilda, widow (968)
- a noble, she left her inheritance to her sons and retired to her
country residence; when her son Otto went to Rome to be crowned
emperor, he left the kingdom in her charge; buried in Quedlinburg (any
sermons by Jordan of Quedlinburg preached on her feast?)
