Clinical Effectiveness Information Manager
(12 Months Fixed Term in the first instance or secondment opportunity)
£29,907 - £38,409 (inc. £3000 pa London Allowance)
This post will lead the future development of clinical effectiveness
information provision by the RCN. This will include managing the integration
of the Nursing and Midwifery Audit Information Service with the new National
Institute for Clinical Excellence as well as developments in the four
countries of the UK, following recent White papers and strategy documents
such as Information for Health.
The successful candidate must have worked in the health care sector and
possess an understanding of clinical effectiveness and the role of
information in clinical effectiveness. Additionally, the successful
candidate will have 5 years experience in project management and provision
of health information services.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills are required and an
ability to work and network strategically at national level is essential.

The RCN will commence modernising its Headquarters early in 1999. All
Headquarters based staff will move to another London location during the
work. The project is planned to take 18 months.
