Book your place now on the following workshop:
Information auditing as a management process
2 March, LAHQ, London
Whatever else it is, information is now accepted as a corporate resource -
along side materials, money, people, plant and machinery - and it is being
better managed by those organisations who are aware of this and act upon it.
Information auditing - based on sound financial auditing principles - is an
important process in helping your company to use its information as a
resource and to clarify how information contributes to the main business
processes and objectives.
How will this event help you?
This introductory day will set out the practical implications of carrying
out an information audit and look at the key management issues involved.
By the end of the day you will have:
* set information auditing within a broader context of managing
information as an organisational resource
* considered information auditing as a management process
* examined some of the practical issues that arise in implementing
information auditing programmes
* reviewed and discussed how best to take these ideas forward within
your own organisation.
Who will benefit from attending?
This is an introductory seminar for business managers, senior librarians and
information specialists who need to improve the management of information
within their organisation. The workshop will include both presentation and
practical activity and your participation will be encouraged throughout the
day.
Workshop leaders:
Graham Robertson, Bracken Associates.
Graham's particular interests are centred on the development and
introduction of information auditing as an accepted management practice
within the context of information resource management.
David Streatfield, Principal, Information Management Associates. David and
his associates provide training, consultancy and research services in the
health and libraries field.
Kevin Miles, Information Manager, Surrey Police. In his post of Information

resource and is involved in initiatives to make more use of the information
