Consultation and best value in the public library
24 & 25 February, London
Best Value is a duty upon public librarians to deliver defined services to
clear standards, in terms of both cost and quality. As part of the
accountability to local people there is a clear need for effective and
efficient consultation with users and potential users of the service.
How will this event help you?
This two day workshop will address the consultation issues highlighted by
the concept of Best Value and will outline key tools and techniques to
ensure effective and efficient consultation.
By the end of the workshop you will have:
* discussed the contribution of consultation to Best Value
* been made aware of and used key consultation techniques
* considered how to set up a consultation programme
Who should attend?
This workshop will be relevant to all those in public libraries who have
responsibility to ensure that the Best Value approach is supported by
effective user consultation.
