Has anyone any information on RCT's using bio-reabsorbable membrane to
reduce post-operative adhesions (Seprafilm) in general surgery (have
trials of use in gynae). I am also looking for clinical guidelines
on its use. Have been asked to purchase it for the department in
largish, costly quantities and I am rather concerned regarding its
efficacy. This is especially concerning as this item costs £150 per
patient use.
In addition, I have come across anedotal evidence of problems and
patient reactions.
Any EBM surgeons out there with some good sources? Have checked
Medline and Cochrane.
