				  Young Researchers Meeting

The Astrophysical Chemistry Group of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the
Royal Astronomical Society is arranging a one-day meeting aimed primarily
at PhD students and also postdocs. The meeting will cover many different
facets of this rapidly expanding research area, from observational work in
all regions of the spectrum, through theoretical modelling, to laboratory
data.

Registration 

A registration form is attached below and it is also available on our web
page. (http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/~pczhjf/regform.html). It can be
returned directly by email to [log in to unmask] with the
subject line "EYU 2000" or printed out and returned by normal post. (Please
mark postal registrations F.A.O. Dr. H. J. Fraser, Physical Chemistry,
School of Chemistry, University of Nottingham, University Park, Nottingham,
NG7 2RD, UK). Registration fees are £15 for members of the Astrophysical
Chemistry Group and £25 for non-members. Your place will be confirmed once
we have received your registration fee. Payment must be made in pounds
sterling by personal or institution cheque or a bankers draft, made payable
to 'The Astrophysical Chemistry Group'. Please mark the reverse of your
cheque with 'EYU 2000' and write the full names of those registering on the
reverse. The deadline for applications is January 31st 2000. 

The number of places at the "Expanding Your Universe" meeting is limited to
50, and places are being allocated on a first come first served basis
consistent with producing a balanced programme.  Over 20 applications have
already been received, from PhD Students, Postdoc's, Lecturers and
Professors from the U.K. and Europe. If you apply and all the places are
taken we will return your payment and will contact you should further
places become available. In this instance preference will be given to PhD
students and younger researchers.

Please note: this meeting will encompass diverse fields of research, so
talks should be aimed at a general audience of researchers who may not
necessarily have an in depth knowledge of your own field.

Prior to 31st January 2000 registration costs £15 (including a hot lunch)
for members of the Astrophysical Chemistry Group and £25 (including a hot
lunch) for non-members. Membership of the Astrophysical Chemistry Group
costs £4 per annum for members of the RAS / RSC and £8 for others. If you
would like to join the group you can include your membership fee with the
registration fee making a total payment of either £19 or £23! After 31st
January a flat fee of £25 applies.
