There is a huge literature relating to assessment of calcium absorption and
the particular quesion you are asking. You will need to read it - there are
lots of artefacts and pitfalls and many simple measurements are subject to
severe problems of interpretation!! Urine calcium excretion as an index of
calcium absorption is largely a waste of time.
