Dear Colleagues,
I would be very interested to learn about a lab performing an assay for
anti-IgA antibodies.
Our nephrologists are concerned with a female patient suffering from
celiac disease and chronal renal failure. They consider immunoglobulin
deficiency and/or (acquired) anti-IgA antibodies after chemotherapy for
a myeloproliferative disease.
The usefulness of immunoglobulin substitution is being discussed. The
choice of the immunoglobulin formulation will obviously depend on the
presence/absence of anti-IgA antibodies.
Thank you very much for your discussion, advice, and practical help.
Sincerely,
Dr. med. Michael Steiner
