Dear Louise,
our super-duper web archive reveals all! First, go to:
http://www.mailbase.ac.uk/lists/medieval-religion/archive.html
You'll see that going back to the foggy past that was July 1996 (note: messages going
even further back, to June 1995, will be placed on the archive in the near future),
all messages sent to the list are available. You can either search for a key word, or
go straight to the month/s if you know it/them. In this case, I'm sure you recall
that the discussion started in September 1998 and continued into October 1998; I'd
advise going into the archives for those months, rather than search for key words
such as 'Bible' or 'East' -- you'd get many many more 'hits' than you require!
Now, regarding each month, you'll note on the web page that you can look up the
messages according to: Date, Thread, Subject, or Author. Let's say that in this
instance you are only in the messages sent by Bill East; so, just click on 'Author'
next to the heading for September 1998 and October 1998, and you can easily locate
everything Bill sent during that month, all his messages being grouped together.
Try it and see what happens, then let us know if you found what you were seeking!
