News Release 30 October 1998 For immediate release
New leader for LINC
CHRIS KOSTER, Director of Libraries and Arts, Royal Borough of Kensington
and Chelsea, was elected Chair of the Library and Information
Co-operation Council (LINC) at its 1998 AGM on 14 October.
Chris Koster has chaired LASER Management Committee since 1991 and is a
member of the British Library Advisory Council. He has played an active
part in LINC affairs as one of the LASER representatives on the Council.

"As a cross-sectoral organisation, LINC has unrivalled strengths in
making the case for sharing library and information resources for the
benefit of users", he said. "The current context offers opportunities for
LINC to make a significant contribution to national policy."
Chris Koster joins the LINC Officer team who were re-elected at the AGM:
Vice Chair Frances Hendrix, Director of LASER, representing LASER;
Honorary Secretary Paul Turner, County Librarian of Hampshire, who
represents the South Western Regional Library System; and Honorary
Treasurer Ray de Graff, Head of Libraries and Arts, North Yorkshire
