Gloucester Cathedral LIbrary MS 22:
Part I six sermons and part of a seventh (based on Mirk, so not relevant to you);
Part II sixty mostly Dominical sermons pp.45-722, related to Lincoln Cathedral
Ms 50-51 (which might still be in Nottingham Univ.--I am not sure). Gloucester 22
hasn't been edited yet, though someone in France is supposed to be doing it
(it associates with a group of MSS further details of which may also be found in:
Alan Fletcher, _Preaching, Politics and Poetry in Late-Medieval England_
(Dublin: Four Courts Press, 1998) due out any moment if not already available.
See also Susan Powell, _The Advent and Nativity Sermons from a Fifteenth-Century
Revision of John Mirk's Festial: Edited from British LIbrary MS Harley 2247, Royal
18B XXV, and Gloucester Cathedral Library MS 22_ Middle English Texts, 13
(Heidelberg: Carl Winter, 1981) who though dealing mainly with Part I, describes Part
II. (Part III is irrelevant to you).
At present Gloucester Cathedral Library will not permit microfilming
under any circumstances, even in the library itself. (I have offered them 600
pounds worth free, and they have refused). However, this MS was filmed in the days
when they did permit it, and is held in the Gloucester Record Office, Alvin St.
Gloucester. Unfortunately, I have the film at the moment, but will soon be in a
position to release it. Let me know.
Hope this helps,
Avril
