Dear Steven,
I hope I can dig something up, but for the moment the observation may be
useful that the Middle English Life of Adam and Eve, uniquely found in the
Vernon MS in the Bodleian (c.1370-80) does treat them sympathetically. It
has been edited by Horstmann, *Sammlung Altenenglischer Legenden* (1878)
and more recently by N.F.Blake, *Middle English Religious Prose* (1972).
Hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Brian Donaghey
