I missed the early part of this thread, so apologies for any
duplication. The handiest guide in English to medieval liturgical
sources is, I think, still Cyrille Vogel's book:
Medieval liturgy: an introduction to the sources / Cyrille vogel;
transl. and rev. by William Storey and Niels Rasmussen. Washington,
D.C. : Pastoral Press, 1986. ISBN 0912405104.
Noted but not seen:
Histoire des livres liturgiques. Le moyen age : des origines au XIIIe
siecle / par Eric Palazzo. Paris : Beauchesne, c1993.
It may not really be liturgy you need, however. Marriage is even at
the most ecclesiastical of times only partly ecclesiastical, partly
civil, secular, and traditional, and the two sides can influence
each other in odd ways. One virtue of the handy TEAMS vol. mentioned
by Karen Saupe (aside from its bibliography) is to stress and
exemplify the some of the ramifications of this complicated situation.
