- spent many years weeping in a penitential cage, his knees
drawn up to his chin
* Leander, bishop of Seville (596)
- in Spain, his liturgy is of a doctor of the Church;
according to tradition, Gregory the Great sent him the
famous picture of our Lady of Guadalupe
* Baldomerus or Galmier (c. 660)
- patron of locksmiths (he lived as one in Lyon);
eventually lived as a contemplative in a monastery cell; at
the monastery, he would tame the wild birds of the air,
saying to them 'Take your refreshment and always bless the
Lord of Heaven'
* Alnoth (c. 700)
- a simple cowherd, he became a hermit in the woods at
Stowe near Bugbrooke; there, he was murdered by robbers
