I, too, have been lurking without introducing myself. I am currently an
Assistant Professor of History at the University of California, San Diego.
My research interests include a project on unitive mysticism, spirit
possession, and the discernment of spirits in the thirteenth through
fifteenth centuries; and the role of the dead within medieval folklore or
"popular" (hate that word!) religious culture.
As long as I'm breaking my silence and writing in, I'd like to thank all the
list administrators and participants for creating a truly wonderful list.
From the saints' days to the new book posts to the thoughtful discussions,
this is truly a paragon of what an e-list should be. No other venue I've
seen equals it.
