IBERIAN AND LATIN AMERICAN COLLECTIONS
APPROACHING THE MILLENNIUM: A WORKSHOP
All librarians with an interest in Iberian infomation sources
are warmly invited to a half-day 'exchange of experience' meeting and buffet
organized by ACLAIIR (the Advisory Council for Latin American and Iberian
Information Resources) on Wednesday November 4th. It will be held at the
Institute of Latin American Studies, 31 Tavistock Square, London,
from 12.30 to 4.30 pm.
Since the first exchange of experience meeting two years ago was a
considerable success, it was decided to hold another such meeting this
year.
The cost will be stlg10 for members of ACLAIIR and stlg12.50 for others.
This includes the cost of the buffet lunch beginning at 12.30.
The meeting aims to cover the major problems faced by managers of
reference collections on Latin America, Spain and Portugal
Seminars are planned on the selection and acquisition of books,
periodicals, theses and electronic resources; on reference sources
(on- and off-line); and the major research collections, academic
organisations and library organisations in the field. Sessions will be
introduced and led by experienced practitioners from the United
Kingdom's major research libraries.
