This debate on Ariane 5 is now getting way outside the normal interest
area of a Fortran 90 discussion group. The Ariane 5 failure, however,
does bring into question the practicality of "re-usable software", which
was one of the key ideas behind the introduction of Ada in the first place.
True, Fortran 90 modules are equally intended to be re-usable, but:
Nobody has trumpeted them as the wonder-feature of the language.
Fortran 90 is easier to learn and to write, so re-usability
is a bit less of an issue.
