I have a recording of The Tutelar of the Place which was made after
DJ's first stroke, so is very slow and a bit slurred and renders the
sense of rhythm more pouched and baggy than it might otherwise have
been. There is also the BBC Peter Orr production of The Sleeping Lord
which reverts to Jones' own voice (very movingly) at the close.
Again, very slow and emphatic but without so much drag. I don't know
whether Jones recorded the whole of SL or just extracts. Perhaps Alan
Halsey knows?
