I sent the following message a few days ago to the hagiography list, and
have received some valuable and interesting replies (e.g. a group
commemoration around 18 December that includes Judith with many others;
her presence in icon painters' handbooks; etc.). But I suspect more is to
be said. Is there any evidence that she ever had her own day on the
calendar, or that she was a magnet for other traditions beyond what is in
the book by her name? Is there a St.Judith tradition connected with this
Judith?
