Dear friends on the list,
This is not really medieval, but this group has such wide knowledge
and great generosity, I know someone can help me. We are planning the
seating of our new bishop (Episcopal) in Laramie in October, and were
discussing appropriate music. I suggested "Sheep May Safely Graze,"
since this man looks like a very pastoral bishop. But both the organist
and I know of a piece called "Zadok the Priest" or something like that.
She has played it, I read about it in a Susan Howatch novel. We think
it's Handel, presumably an oratorio, but can anyone tell me more?
Also, who was Zadok? My brief concordance doesn't list him as
biblical.
Thanks so much for help on an ancillary topic.
