You might consider _Hildegard of Bingen: Mystical Writings_ Edited
and Introduced by Fiona Bowie and Oliver Davies with New Translations by
Robert Carver. New York: Crossroad, 1990.
I paid $9.95 for it in 1991.
It runs 157 pages with a select bibliography and discography
(obviously out-dated).
There are two parts: an introduction (59pp) and selections. The
introduction includes a map, a brief chronology, biographical information,
and some analysis of Hildegard's theology, science, and socio-historical
location.
The selections include extracts from _The Life of Saint Hildegard_
by Godfrey and Theodoric, _The Book of Life's Merits_, _The Book of Divine
Works_, _Causes and Cures_, Hildegard's Songs, and Hildegard's Letters.
Unfortunately I cannot speak to the quality of the translation.
Perhaps someone else on the list can.
