I thought DCers who weren't on the Digital Libraries Research mailing list
might appreciate this, especially the last resource at
<URL:http://vancouver-webpages.com/VWbot/mk-dublin.html>. This generates
HTML that appears to follow one of the early suggestions for embedding DC
in HTML (before the W3C indexing workshop).
Tatty bye,

re: metadata for WWW pages
There is an effort underway to form consensus on a number of core
elements for describing networked information, referred to as the
Dublin Core Elements.
For general information, see:
http://www.oclc.org:5046/research/dublin_core/
General approaches to implementing such a scheme are at:
http://www.dlib.org/dlib/july96/07weibel.html and
http://www.dlib.org/dlib/july96/lagoze/07lagoze.html
A more specific proposal for using the HTML Meta Tags is at:
http://www.oclc.org:5046/~weibel/html-meta.html
A script for building Meta Tags with schema (including LCSH) is at:
http://vancouver-webpages.com/VWbot/mk-dublin.html
Any of these pages will provide links to other equally interesting
pages!
Ricky
