the most interesting work on this is being done by Moshe Idel of Hebrew
University (<[log in to unmask]>) whose work on a remarkable Spanish Jew
named Abraham Abulafia who set out in 1260 (!) to travel the "world" and
ended up predicting the end in 1290 in works written in both hebrew and
latin. also Yisrael Yuval also of Hebrew U (<[log in to unmask]>) whose
work on a "redemption of vengeance" has been extremely controversial.
let me jump the gun here a little by asking if anyone has a paper to
suggest for a tentative conference tentatively entitled "The Apocalyptic
Outsider: Jews, Christians and Muslims view the "other" at the End of Time."
