MEDIEVAL ART AND ARCHITECTURE OF GLASGOW AND ENVIRONS
19 - 23 July 1997
The 1997 Conference of the British Archaeological Association will be the 23rd of the
current series and will be held in Glasgow, at the University of Strathclyde, from
Saturday, 19 July to Wednesday, 23 July 1997. A principal focus of the conference
will be the architecture and archaeology of Glasgow Cathedral, which is close by, but
we will also be looking at other buildings within the area, including the abbeys of
Paisley, Kilwinning and Crossraguel and the castles of Stirling, Bothwell and
Dundonald. Excursions are planned to most of these, as well as to other sites of
interest.
Offers of papers should be sent to Dr Richard Fawcett at the address below by 1
November 1996.
The Conference welcomes professional and amateur enthusiasts equally.
Non-members who wish to attend should send a stamped addressed envelope to the
Conference Secretary and will receive further details and an application form in May
1997. Members of the BAA will receive application form automatically at the same
time.
